Gunn Auto Tech Events: Model-T Safety Tech

On Saturday, March 8th, 2008, the Gunn Auto students participated in a Model T Ford safety Inspection with the help of the members of the Santa Clara Valley Model T Ford Club. A large number of members are planning to drive their vintage cars to Yosemite and this was an opportunity to have their cars inspected prior to the trip. We had more than 15 cars show up for safety checks and the mandatory morning coffee and snacks right here at the Gunn Auto Shop. Club member Bob Meneely held a meeting to describe what the plan was for the morning with 10 Gunn Auto student volunteers. The students were teamed in small groups and with other Model T Club members assisting. They then got down to business and got dirty, checking susensions, brakes, tires, bearings and looking for anything loose. After the inspections were completed the students hopped into the cars and rode on a 25 mile tour of Los Altos Hills and then to a lunch hosted by Pat Meneely and the Santa Clara T Club. The weather was perfect and a good time was had by all!
