Gunn High School Competes in their 1st Model-T Speedster Endurance Run
June 2006: Auto II students take the "Gunn High School Special" to the Santa Clara Model T Ford Club Endurance Run and Lowland Tour. Route: Jan Jose - Dublin Ford (via Mt Hamilton) - Santa Clara
| Driver: SCVMTFC Member Bob Meneely Riding Mechanics: Students Irena Kvam, Stefan Geiger, Alex Granieri and Ron Kao |
We worked very hard to complete the car before the event. We test drove the car in the Los Altos Hills a bit Thursday afternoon where we discovered a huge oil leak. We also had to readjust the brakes and the low band for the transmission. The Friday before the event (the senior's last day of school) was spent finishing all the details. Students then gave the car a coat of primer, affixed the decals, and loaded it on the trailer for the ride to the tech inspection. |
